- Juan-les-Pins / Golfe-Juan: long rocky crests and small coves; target pylons and protruding rocks with steady vertical jigging. Best on cleaner mornings after a front.
- Mandelieu-la-Napoule: La Napoule harbor area and nearby rock groynes offer solid jigging around 20–60 g; look for current lines and depth changes just offshore.
- Cannes & Île Sainte-Marguerite area: crosettes breakwaters, harbour walls and ledges near the bay edge hold bass and wrasse; keep jigs 30–50 g for 3–6 m depth.
- Nice, Villefranche & Cap Ferrat zone: rocky points and hulls near old port jetties; deeper edges around capes respond well to 40–60 g jigs.
- Mentone & Cap Martin: rugged coast with coves and small bays; jig around rock piles and drop-offs for bass and mullet species.

- Water temperatures typically sit around 18–20°C; nights cooler, days still sunny. Stronger sirocco or mistral winds can dirty the water but also push bait along the coast—look for clearer pockets after a wind shift.
- Best windows: early morning or late afternoon, during a rising tide or after a front when fish are active along structure.
Gear & techniques
- Lures: metal jigs in the 20–60 g range for most shore structure; up to 80 g for deeper channels. If water is clear, try brighter colors; in stained water, go with natural or glow patterns.
- Techniques: slow-pitch jigging and vertical jigging near rocks and pylons. Try a 2–3 second drop, then 5–8 short twitches, repeat. If fish are sluggish, switch to a longer sweep and a slower cadence.
- Tackle tips: 2.1–2.7 m rod, 15–60 g rating; reel around 2500–3000; 15–30 lb fluorocarbon leader.
