Throw a 3/8 oz black-and-blue jig first, skipped tight under the darkest dock shade. After rain, bass often slide to the inside corners, posts, and the shadiest water under docks. Today’s overcast, falling pressure, and late-spring warmth all favor a tighter, more aggressive dock bite.
First move
- Start with a jig or bladed jig around the first dock in wind-blown water.
- Cadence: skip it in, let it fall on semi-slack line, then do 2–3 short hops and pause.
- If the water is stained, go with black/blue or dark green pumpkin.
- If fish miss or follow, switch to a paddle-tail or soft jerkbait on a light jighead and swim it past posts.

Backup plan
